Mal Blum writes deadpan, funny, frequently self-effacing songs about the hidden meanings and mundane minutiae found in day-to-day life: watching TV, feeling alone, fumbling for the right things to say. As with the singer's spiritual forebears in The Moldy Peaches, Blum's songs practically brim over with clever ideas and keen observations, interspersed with notes of raw, unvarnished humanity.

Known for their gritty, melodic indie pop songwriting, John-Allison Weiss emerged at the end of the 2000s as an early crowd-funding hero with a strong D.I.Y. ethos that has defined them throughout their career. After establishing themselves among the punk underground, they became a staple of the Warped Tour and released highly rated albums like 2013's Say What You Mean and 2015's New Love. Touring with everyone from Lou Reed to Letters to Cleo, Weiss has also collaborated as a songwriter with artists including Tegan Quin and Kevin Devine. Following a live album and 2021's Death Valley Demos EP, they signed with Get Better Records and issued the singles "Different Now" and "Feels Like Hell" from their upcoming album 'The Long Way' out February 17, 2023.

Vial

VIAL is a Minneapolis-based indie punk trio of best friends: Keytarist and bassist Taylor Kraemer (she/they), guitarist KT Branscom (they/them), and drummer Katie Fischer (she/they). VIAL brings their genre-bending cascade of sound into electrifying live performances. Songs that smack you in the face: Rage-written speed runs about running over misogynists ("Roadkill") are followed by a head bopping, cheek-blushing queer love songs to tingle your toes ("Violet"); VIAL is powerhouse who knows how to adapt their sound, and themselves, allowing them to grow in new ways during 2020’s days of quarantine by creating a wide audience on TikTok and other social media while revving up to release their blossoming debut album, LOUDMOUTH (2021). This record was highly-anticipated after the success of their debut EP, “Grow Up,” which hit streaming sites soon after the group’s formation in 2019.
