Overview

A Backyard Guide for Beginners! Join us to learn about the maple syrup making process.

Travel through various stations in Bloomer Park with Outdoor Engagement staff to learn the first steps to make your own maple syrup. From identifying various species of maple trees, to the tree tapping process and sap boiling setup, you'll gain the knowledge you need to make your own syrup. In addition, you can add on a starter kit with a spile, tubing, bucket, and filter to tap your own tree! This program is held rain or shine so come dressed for the weather and a walk through the woods.

Recommended for age 12+. Children 12 -15 must purchase a ticket and be accompanied by a paid adult.

Participants will meet at the Pine Grove shelter. Please arrive on time as program content starts promptly and participants often venture out into the park. As a courtesy to wildlife and other participants, please leave your pets at home. Content such as changes/maps will be sent via email leading up to the program. Pre-registration is required.
