As we can all attest, community is more important today than ever before. As those in power try to overwhelm us with a constant barrage of chaos, hatred, and fear, they gain momentum by our feelings of helplessness and isolation. Our resistance needs to be one of community building and hopefulness. Now is the time to come together, and as Michelle Obama said, “do something”.
Join us on May 25th from 9am-11am at Horner Park for a 5K run/walk that builds community while learning about organizations in our area that are doing the essential work to safeguard the most vulnerable . Participants will pay an entrance fee with 100% of proceeds going towards The National Immigrant Justice Center. The NIJC’s mission is to establish and defend the legal rights of immigrants, regardless of background, and to transform the immigration system to one that affords equal opportunity for all.
