Do I need to be an experienced sculptor?

Accepted Answer

This workshop isn't suitable for absolute beginners, but you don't need to be sculpting professionally to join this workshop. It's more important to bring enthusiasm, imagination, and a willingness to learn :)

Question 2

Do I need to have worked with clay before?

Accepted Answer

No, you don't. Clay may not ultimately even be your preferred medium - but it is soft and easy to work and therefore perfect for an intensive day of honing your sculpting skills to the max. We will discuss other suitable media for sculpting figures during the workshop.

Question 3

Who is this workshop for?

Accepted Answer

This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to make masks, jointed figures, dolls, puppets, or busts. Please note: it is NOT a life sculpting class - you will be encouraged to work from the imagination and develop your own style.

Question 4

Is lunch provided?

Accepted Answer

Hi, tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided throughout the day but lunch is not provided. However, the venue is a short five minute walk from the town centre where you can grab a sandwich, etc. Or bring your own packed lunch. The venue is equipped with a small kitchen and cafe seating.

Should I bring my own tools?

Accepted Answer

Tools and all materials will be provided - but if you have some favourite 'go to' tools of your own, please do bring them with you.
