Makin’ Games is a space to Play, Create, and Iterate! Learn what makes games tick and build some for yourself!

Crash Course ( 1st Thursdays )Dive into new skills, new tools, and new ways of thinking about games! The first Thursday of every month, the Studio will guide you through a bite-sized workshop on topics from programming to pixel art to project management. No matter your skill level, you’ll learn things you can take back to your own game projects!

Jam Sessions ( 3rd Thursdays)Jam ideas, play around, and let your creativity run wild! The third Thursday of every month, the Studio will give you a theme and free reign to build whatever you want, while we stand by to answer questions, offer feedback, and hype up your ideas. Challenge yourself to make a new game each month, or build up to something big!

How can I participate? Sign up here on Eventbrite for each workshop you would like to attend. All sessions of Makin' Games will be hosted through Zoom, and participants will receive a link to join via email a day prior to the event. We highly recommend video participation while using Zoom so that you can interact with other participants and get support for your projects.This workshop will take place every 1st and 3rd Thursday, so stay tuned to see all the cool projects we have coming up!This information is available in an alternate format by request to 562.570.7500.
