Maker's Mark Distillery is the six largest Bourbon Distiller in the World. The Maker’s Mark brand is the third most popular brand in the world. It makes 15 different variations, brands and labels of bourbon or whiskey.
The Maker's Mark Distillery is located in Loretto, Kentucky, it specializes in several small batch bourbons all with the name Maker's Mark. It is subsidiary of Beam Suntory Brands. Maker's Mark is the most popular wheated bourbon in the world which means it has no rye in its mash bill and uses a soft wheat as its second ingredient. It is sold in distinctively square bottles sealed with dripping red wax and is produced at 90 proof.
When founder T. W. Samuels was developing the blueprint for Maker's Mark he made seven different mash bill recipes. But Samuels did not have the luxury of being able to wait five years to distill and age all seven variations so he baked each recipe in a loaf of bread and had his family help him taste the loaves for the best to make his bourbon.
