Make Your Own Wallet
Got a beat up billfold? A worn out wallet? In this beginner friendly class, students will learn to fold a customized wallet out of colorful reusable shopping bags, with compartments for cards, IDs, and currency of many denominations.
Teacher Cirrus Wood needed a wallet that would fit multiple currencies while traveling abroad. So he experimented until he found a design that felt good in the pocket and would stand up to the rigors of life on the road. Six months later, he's still using the same wallet, and now he is prepared to share this origami-based design with you.
No sewing, no glue, just cutting and folding! Students will leave with both a new wallet and the skills to make their own at home.
This class is beginner-friendly, kid-friendly for ages 10+ (under age 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult) and all supplies will be provided!
Instructor Cirrus Wood is a self-taught artisan who enjoys coming up with and learning new techniques to make clothing more visually appealing and more durable. He runs the mending and tailoring business Dollars & Yen which came about after years of casually combining elements of both Japanese and American design in his own wardrobe.
