CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Design your very own suncatcher in this fun DIY workshop. Add colorful beads, feathers, crystals or ribbon to make it your own or opt for a simple modern design. During the first half of the workshop, Kristin of D. Prince Designs will demonstrate several techniques for participants, and then you and your friends will be free to make your suncatcher your own. Hang your finished suncatcher near a window that gets direct light and enjoy the beautiful rainbows that will be cast around your home!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Kristin Taddei of D. Prince Designs is a Capitol Hill, DC- based artist and maker. She offers delightful, bright, and colorful hand-illustrated pen-and-ink prints and decor, inspired by nature and the uniqueness of places. In addition to recycled paper prints, D. Prince Designs sells stickers, bookmarks, notebooks, garland, ornaments, tote bags, and canvas pouches featuring these illustrations. Kristin also makes a variety of suncatchers and hand-painted wrapping paper, and loves to work with clients to create commissioned artwork, including pet portraits, house portraits, bouquet portraits, and paper goods for events. Kristin is also an arborist, and when she's not creating, teaching workshops, or selling her products at Eastern Market, she can be found on daily "tree walks," going to concerts, and visiting new places with her husband.
Frequently asked questions
Yes! We are excited for any little aspiring makers to join us in the DIY classes, but we do ask that if your little is under 13 they are accompanied by an adult. Please know that some of our classes use sharp, hot, or otherwise hazardous tools for children’s use.
Yes! To substitute the event wine, we have a selection of local non-alcoholic options. Including canned coffee, assorted mocktails, water, or lemonade. Please let an associate know if you require a non-alcoholic option.
Our alcohol license prohibits the consumption of outside alcohol in our class area. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase at our Union Market and Wharf stores, as well as non-alcoholic options. Georgetown does not have drinks available.
For a full refund to your original payment method, attendees must reach out to the Event Coordinator for a refund 3 days in advance of the class.
If an event is postponed, rescheduled, or cancelled, you will receive an email from the Event Coordinator to inform you of your refund options. If there is another upcoming class with the same instructor, you can also choose to transfer your ticket to a new date.
Our Wharf and Union Market locations are all wheelchair accessible for the class area. Our Georgetown location has a class area on the second floor that requires going up flights of stairs, so it is not as easily accessible.
Yes! Our Shop Made gift cards can be used for classes, you will just need to contact the location directly to have the card processed in our system and we can manually enter you into the Eventbrite backend.
Nope! Teachers and Shop Made provide all class materials unless otherwise stated in the class description.
