Make & Take Cabinetry #1: Getting Started
Focus on modular cabinet design and box construction.
This is the first in a series of four hands-on classes designed to help those with a little woodworking experience to fill in the blanks, by covering all steps in the process of building a set of kitchen cabinets. This first class in the series covers the basics of designing and building cabinet boxes for both upper and base cabinets. Topics covered include basic box design and construction, tips for buying materials, breaking down plywood into cabinet parts, and cutting dadoes and rabbets with the tablesaw and/or router. You will also begin building your own cabinet by reading a cutting list and cutting parts to size.
This class is part one of a four-part series (each class is sold separately). Each new class builds on what was learned and made in the previous ones. Over the course of the series, you will be able to continue building your cabinet by adding a door, a drawer, hardware components, etc. until by the end of the class series, you will have a completed cabinet!
