About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

The Holland Area Beekeepers Association is once again offering the highly acclaimed workshop on creating new bee colonies and queens. We welcome back the outstanding teacher Shaana Way of Grassroots Honey Co to lead this workshop!!

Increase the number of bee colonies in your apiary with understanding bee biology and hands-on experience in this two consecutive Saturday event.

The 1st Saturday (June 7, Noon-July 3:00pm) will provide classroom instruction and then hive inspections to determine which hives are ready to be split. We will then proceed with the first steps in creating new colonies.

The 2nd Saturday (June 14, Noon-3:00pm) will have us following up to see new queen cells and then make additional colonies with the new queen cells.

The session is ideal for beekeepers who want to learn how to increase the number of colonies in their apiary without buying new bees and making your apiary sustainable.

Space is limited to 25 beekeepers! Register today for a coveted spot in this event!!!
