No welding experience needed. Learn a real, useful skill and walk away with a fire pit you built yourself

We'll pre-cut all your steel pieces on our plasma CNC router so they're ready to go the moment you arrive. No measuring or cutting required, just jump straight into welding. Over two hands-on sessions, you'll learn how to weld while building a sturdy, functional fire pit complete with a built-in wood storage shelf underneath. Guided by a retired professional welder, you'll get personalized instruction from tacking your first joint to finishing your final weld.

Your finished fire pit will measure approximately 20–25" tall and 28" x 28", built from durable 3mm (1/8", 11ga) hot rolled steel — ready to use in your backyard for years to come.

All supplies and safety equipment are included, along with expert guidance every step of the way. No experience required — just bring your enthusiasm and leave with a piece you'll be proud of.

LMS Member Note: LMS members must demonstrate proficiency on equipment before independent use. Completing this course, or attending Basics classes, satisfies that requirement.

Class Requirements:

• Closed-toe shoes required
• Pants required — no shorts or synthetic materials (jeans, leather, or cotton preferred)
• Additional PPE will be provided (welding jackets, helmets, gloves, etc.)
• Ages 12 and up may attend. Attendees under 18 must have a guardian present at all times (see our policies page for the Minor Use Policy and Waiver)
• Please review all LMS policies, including the User Agreement/Code of Conduct and Liability Waiver, prior to class. The Liability Waiver must be signed prior to participating in this class.
