In this hands-on class, you'll build a custom wooden speaker enclosure using a unique dowel-based design and install the Rockler Wireless Speaker Kit — a complete Bluetooth audio system with playback controls, volume adjustment, and a rechargeable battery. When you're done, you'll walk out with a fully functional wireless speaker that pairs with your phone, tablet, or any Bluetooth device.

What You'll Learn:

• Building a dowel speaker enclosure — You'll construct the speaker cabinet using a clever dowel design that gives the box a distinctive, eye-catching look
• Precision drilling — Using a Forstner bit or hole saw to cut clean, accurate holes for the speaker and control pod, which mount via friction fit
• Assembly and glue-up — Putting the enclosure together with tight, clean joints
• Installing the electronics — Wiring the Rockler Wireless Speaker Kit into the enclosure using simple color-coded quick-connect fittings (no soldering, no electrical experience needed)
• Finishing — Sanding and finishing your speaker so it looks as good as it sounds

What's Inside the Speaker Kit:

The Rockler Wireless Speaker Kit includes a full-range speaker with grille, a control pod with on/off, play/pause, forward, back, and volume controls, a USB rechargeable battery, and a 3.5mm auxiliary input for wired connections. Everything connects with simple plug-in wiring.
