Get to Know the Makerspace: DIY Sandbag Creatures!
Come explore the Utility Works Makerspace and get hands-on with a fun, beginner-friendly sewing project! In this creative drop-in session, you’ll learn how to make your own custom sandbag weights—perfect for holding down your goods at your next outdoor market.
Unleash your imagination as you stitch up something cute and practical: a squiggly snake buddy, a smiling turtle, a cheerful caterpillar, even a mini snowman! Whether you're new to sewing or just want a playful project, this is a great way to get familiar with the makerspace tools and connect with fellow creatives.
All materials provided. Drop in, make something fun, and see what the makerspace has to offer!
This class is in conjunction with our Volunteer Day at the Lansdowne Farmers Market. If you don't want to bring your sand critter home with you, leave it for future Farmers Market vendors to use at their booths.
