What is CADA?

Brief Answer Due to Limited Space: CADA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which operates the only emergency battered persons  shelter in Jeff Davis Parish.  Our shelter has provided services to over 18,000 survivors and children since opening in the year 2000.

Do I need to know how to play mahjong to attend?

Accepted Answer

YES!  You do not have to be a professional mahjong player; however, this is not a class, there will be no  instructions given or guided play.  We do have 2 Division so that you can choose the Division that works Best for You!

Is this a Women Only Event?

NO!!! If You Know How to Play Mahjong, You Are Welcome to Join Us (Register)!

What is the Difference between the 2 Divisions?

The Dragon Division is a Rookie Tournament Play ($75) - Fast Paced, Friendly Competition.  The Peacock Division is Social Play ($50) - Laid Back, Go at You Own Pace - Great for Individuals who have taken Mahjong 101 and are working on their skills and knowledge of the Game.  (Prizes will be Given)

What do I need to bring with the  morning of the Event?

You MUST have a 2025 National Mahjong League Card!

Do I need to being my Mahjong Set?

Accepted Answer

It is not required; however, we do need 10 sets per Division (20 sets Total). Please indicate at Registration if You are able to bring a mahjong set to the Event. (Perks will be given for your generosity.)

Are there House Rules?

Accepted Answer

Yes! House Rules will be provided to the Registered Players prior to the Event.  This is our 1st time hosting a tournament fundraiser so there will not be many rule; however,  we want to make sure that all players are on the same page.

Will Food Be Provided?

Yes!  A light lunch with the option of water or tea will be provided.     221 will have food and drink options, at an additional charge.

Will The Games Be Played with Jokers & Blanks?

YESSSSS!  We will play with 6 Blanks & 10 Jokers!

Are There Prizes?

YESSSS!! We will have prizes purchased by our Board from Local Businesses, as well as Mahjong Themed Items.  Prizes will be given to the 1st Mahjongs of the Event, Many Door Prizes, and Multiples Awards in Both Divisions.  We will also be Raffling Off Great Items.

Is there a Table Decorating Contest?

YESS! The Peacock Division will have larger tables, which will allow for extra FUN and decorations.  This is not required, just a FUN options for the Peacock Division. (Prizes will be Given)
