Mahjong Assisted Play + Open Play Sessions

Assisted Play: Basic Mahjong Knowledge Required

Designed for players who have completed Mahjong 101 or 102, Assisted Play offers a relaxed, small-group environment to practice and refine your game. This session emphasizes real play with instructor support available for questions, clarifications, and occasional coaching on strategy and etiquette.

While not a formal class, you’ll gain valuable confidence through hands-on rounds, help with Charleston flow and hand selection, and feedback to strengthen your understanding of gameplay. Perfect for those looking to bridge the gap between lessons and independent play.

All materials are provided for this lesson.

Assisted Play sessions require a minimum of four participants to run. In the event of low enrollment, registered guests will be contacted with the option to transfer to a future date or receive a full refund.

Open Play: Independent Gameplay

Already know how to play? Join our Open Play tables running alongside Mahjong 101. This option is perfect for players who want casual, independent gameplay without instruction.

Enjoy a relaxed setting with full use of Mahjong sets. Bring your 2025 NMJL Card if you have one - if not, we will have some available to use. Players will be seated by self-selected skill level (beginner, intermediate, or advanced) to keep games fun and evenly matched. Come solo or bring friends!
