Join our Hansavedas Sangha for a special livestream from our new property, Hansadhāman, in Penn Valley, California. Experience a traditional Vedic fire ceremony on the auspicious occasion of Axaya-tritiyā.

Participate remotely and imbibe the immensely powerful blessings of the Śrī Mahāsudarśana Homa presided over by HH Swami Vidyadhishananda and conducted by four trained Vedic Priests.

Agnicayanam (establishment of sacred fire) will be effected using the Araṇimanthanam technique (rubbing of Peepul tree wood) and this fire will be kept kindled from 9th May morning until the end of the fire ceremony on 10th May.

This fire ceremony is being conducted to not only commemorate the Foundation Day of the Nonprofit, Self Enquiry Life Fellowship, but also to invoke the protection of Lord Sri Narasimha who has been revealed to be the Xetrapālaka, or the presiding cosmic force guarding the Penn Valley area.

Lord Vasudeva, who descended on Earth at around 11,150 BCE, is the head of lineages of HH Swami Vidyadhishananda. Śrī Mahāsudarśana Homa was chosen because this primordial energy is a combination of Śrī Vasudeva Krishna and Śrī Narasimha.

Main Homa Mantra (Sanskrit and English)

This is the mantra that will be used during the main portion of the homa and you are welcome to participate and chant along with either the Sanskrit or the English transliteration, but you do not need to memorize this ahead of time. Chanting along with the ceremony is optional and per your preference.

How to Watch and Join

We will be streaming the main portion of the live fire ceremony from about 10am Pacific Time through 2pm Pacific Time on 10th May. The exact start and end time of the livestream may vary (+/- half an hour) based on the flow of the fire ceremony.

You may join any portion(s) within this 4-hour window to watch the homa. You do not need to log in at a specific time as there will not be any formal introduction or discourse by His Holiness. An edited version of the complete two-day ceremony will be uploaded and shared with all registrants at the end of May.

The URL and password required to watch the livestream will be shared with you in your Eventbrite Registration Confirmation email. You will also be sent the login details 2 hours before the stream begins.

You will use that same URL and password to watch the edited version of the ceremony once it is uploaded. We will be sure to notify all livestream participants when the edited version is available.

Please be mindful to type your primary email address free from any typos when registering - this will ensure that you receive the email with the login details.

Spiritual Relevance of Axayā-tritiya

Axaya-tritiyā, which translates as the ‘imperishable third’ falls on the third day of the ascending moon during the soli-lunar month of Vaisakha. The day is celebrated as the birthdays of supreme personality Lord Parashurāma and Sukrāchārya (Lord Venus). This day is even more significant to those who are interested in Jyotiṣa (science of light and celestial bodies) as the day when great sage Bhrigu rishi completed his compendium on Jyotiṣa known as Bhrigu-samhitā. Every noble act on this day is said to be at least tripled in results and traditionally this day has been revered as one with immortal virtuosity.

A closer look at the divine legacy of axaya-tritiyā reveals to us that all three events ascribed to this day are related to sage Bhrigu. While Venus (the ruling Lord of planet Venus) is hailed to be the son of sage Bhrigu, Lord Parashurāma also descended in the familial lineage of sage Bhrigu. In the spiritual philosophy classic of Bhagavad-Gitā, Lord Krishna declares that among the sages he is Bhrigu, as it were, thus conferring the highest seer status on sage Bhrigu.

Hansavedas curriculum (gurukulum) as per the monastic mission (Maṭha) was founded on this auspicious day of the year to render the wisdom teachings immortalized. This was effected as per the guidance by Lord Parashurāma who is the erstwhile satguru of the spiritual founder of Self Enquiry Life Fellowship, HH Swami Vidyadhishananda.

Furthermore, HH Swami Vidyadhishananda was born in the tutelage of Sage Bhrigu Rishi and thus hails from Bhrigu-gotra (lineage connected to a rishi sage). His Holiness had received specific directives when he was revealed the details of the Hansavedas Mission through the discourse of sage Bhrigu rishi to His son Lord Venus.

No refunds or credits toward registration amount will be offered if you cancel within 3 days of the start date of the event, if you do not show up, or if you leave an event early for any reason.

Cancellation by the Organizer

Self Enquiry Life Fellowship reserves the right to cancel any event at any time. In the instance an event is cancelled, registrants will be notified and offered the option of receiving a refund or credit toward a future event. While Self Enquiry Life Fellowship never anticipates cancelling an event, due to unforeseeable circumstances some events may be canceled.
