Magee Marsh & Migrating Warblers
Join Detroit Bird Alliance at one of THE best sites in North America to see warblers and other songbird migrants.
Join Detroit Bird Alliance expert and eagle eyed leaders Jim Bull and Bruce Szczechowski at Magee Marsh, one of THE best sites in North America to see Warblers and other songbird migrants—sometimes up close and personal. Magee Marsh, situated on the southern shore of Lake Erie, is a prime stopover for North American Warblers during spring migration as they follow the Atlantic and Mississippi flyways. In recent years we have also had nesting Bald Eagles, Herons, Woodcock, and Screech Owls.
We will caravan to other hot spot viewing areas along the Lake Erie shore like Metzger Marsh Wildlife Area and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. The group usually has lunch together at a local restaurant (your ticket fee does not include lunch).
We will meet at the West end of the parking lot at the Magee Marsh Boardwalk or Google maps link to where to park HERE. There are "port-o-johns" in the parking lot.
