4-H is a national organization which helps young people develop life-long knowledge and skills to become engaged citizens. Young people in 4-H learn about citizenship, leadership, foods and nutrition, healthy lifestyles, veterinary science, mechanics and technology, horticulture, agriculture, and other subjects.

5K &amp; 10 K Obstacle Race. To rival some of the best in Texas, Mad Max Mud Run in Paris, Texas is an event with a military type obstacle course, designed to challenge even the best!April 22nd is the day to mark your calendars for the run..This event is open to Adults and Adolescents ages 14, and up. Individuals participating under the age of 18 must have a paid adult registered to participate.Proceeds go to the Lamar County 4-H and the Family and Community Health programs. If for any reason lightening is present , , no refund will be provided.Packet Pick-up will be available Friday, April 21st at the Lamar County Extension office , 4315 Bonham street, Suite A, Paris, 75460 from 8 am-5:30pm or packets can be picked up race day All sales are final. Extension programs serve people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, disability, or national origin. The Texas A &amp; M University System, U. S. Department of Agriculture, and the County Commissioners courts of Texas cooperating.
