Ikon Science and AAPG Deep Learning Technical Interest Group

We are excited to bring to AAPG community the very first Machine Learning Code! Workshop. The objective of this half-day course designed for geoscientists and engineers is to demonstrate the flexibility and ease of coding in Python® and machine learning (ML), incorporating examples used in conjunction with the industry standard RokDoc® GeoPrediction software. This powerful combination enables the user to implement their own desired algorithms in Python®. Computing environment.
Scope – 1) start by teaching selected basic well log operations using Python® and the external interface to RokDoc®. 2) extend this application to basic machine learning algorithms for facies classification using freely available open-source Python® libraries.   Pre-requisites - The course is for practitioners and involves hands-on coding experiments, hence having some Python skills is an advantage but not essential. We suggest Google's Python Class.
