Barrie residents Iain Moggach and Marissa Caldwell had the dream of bringing Shakespeare back to Barrie and provide employment opportunities for local theatre artists.As an experiment, they decided to stage a production ofA Midsummer Night's Dreamin their backyard! It was a smash hit. Audiences loved the intimacy of the space and the fantastic performances.Thus, Burro'd Theatre was born. A theatre company dedicated to performing Shakespeare's works in unique spaces across Simcoe County.We believe Simcoe County's artists and performers deserve more opportunities to make money for their work. Our community is polarized between professional theatres and community theatres with nothing in between. Burro'd Theatre seeks to bridge that gap.Our goal is also to provide our audiences an artistic and emotional experience they won’t forget.
