Macbeth
Overview

Please join us for an outdoor performance of Macbeth, drawing inspiration from the deep history of Scottish folklore.

IT WILL BE COLD PLEASE BRING A JACKET/COAT/BLANKET!

A tale of witches, wives, and warfare.

The Stanford Shakespeare company presents Macbeth, Shakespeare's iconic tragedy. A soldier's descent into tyranny, driven by the whispers of fate and the hunger for power comes to the stage of StanShakes with a twist: twin embodiments of a single fractured mind. As one voice counsels restraint, the other urges ruin. Together, they externalize the war within the push and pull of conscience versus ambition that has made Macbeth one of theatre's most complex and electrifying roles for over four centuries.

When a man is told he is destined for greatness, how far will he go to make it so — and what is left of him when he does?

Directed by Kate Morgan and produced by Yasmine Toubassy, the Stanford Shakespeare Company is performing one of Shakespares most Iconic plays - Macbeth - in one of Stanford Engineering Quad's outdoor amphitheaters. The show will have three performances: Thursday May 21st, Friday May 22nd, and Saturday May 23rd (Week 8 of Stanford's Spring Quarter!). Seating will open at 7:30pm with the show starting at 8:00pm.
