Who is it for?

Farmers, land managers and the organisations that support them.

Why should I participate?

This is an opportunity for farmers, land managers and the organisations that support them to directly inform the UK government’s land use policy and net-zero objectives.

What is the LUNZ Grasslands project?

LUNZ Grasslands seeks to address the transformation of UK grasslands for net-zero whilst improving soil health, biodiversity, and the economy. For more information, see: https://lunzhub.com/projects/grasslands/

Workshop Details

We start the day with a visit to Trevor Somerville's farm to discuss aspects of grassland management and the importance of soil management, as well finding out more about the LUNZ Grasslands Project.

Please arrive at the farm by 10:45am for a prompt start.

Parking is available on site (yard/field).

We will then transfer to the Glenavon House Hotel, 52 Drum Rd, Cookstown, County Tyrone BT80 8QS (approx. 15 mins drive) for a delicious two course lunch and an afternoon workshop session. We are anticipating that participants will drive themselves to both venues.

The afternoon workshop will explore your experience of current and future farming practices that can support the journey to net zero.

The workshop will be region specific and focus on Northern Ireland.

If participation in the in the workshop is not covered through your employment, you can apply to have your costs covered via a daily stipend. Please do this in the additional information section when you reserve your ticket.

Please book by Friday 5 September.

Further workshop details will be emailed to participants in advance of the event.
