About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

How can we break down the sacred/secular divide and move towards a more integrated approach to faith and work? How can prayer become not only an action that we occasionally pause our work to do, but something that flows in and through all of our work? What does it mean for you to offer your work as a form of prayer to God?

Join us on Wednesday, May 21 with Dan Marotta as we cover these questions and more. We hope to see you there!

About the series

James 3 tells us "wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere." James also tells us "if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” But how do we actually receive and live this out in our workplace? How does the wisdom of God affect our practical daily decisions?

In our 2024-25 Lunch + Learn series we will be looking at what it means to lean into wisdom in our vocational lives. We will look at:

  • What does it look like to seek wisdom in job/career transitions?
  • How do we lean into wisdom in daily decisions in the workplace?
  • How does wisdom change how we posture ourselves in the world?
  • What are practices we can build into our work rhythms that help to lead with wisdom?

Organized by

Biblical Discipleship: We believe wisdom for daily living comes from an understanding of the biblical story, and specifically what it says about God’s plan for the world.

Vocational Calling: We challenge Christians to understand in a deeper way who they are in Christ and what it means to reimagine their work as sacred opportunities to serve the Lord.

Community Collaboration: We provide opportunities for Christians from different professional, denominational, and cultural backgrounds to learn a shared kingdom language that promotes gospel-centered partnerships.

City Service: We believe Christians must be aware of the places they are called to live and look for ways to nurture flourishing through involvement, sacrifice, and service.
