Join the Ohio School-Based Health Alliance for an informative virtual session where we provide an overview of the best practices and considerations for implementing trauma informed school-based health care services. This lunch and learn will provide school health teams with the practical knowledge needed to ensure that a trauma-informed lens is applied in day to day operations and care delivery. Amy Hawthorne, MA, OCPSA, Trauma-informed Care Coordinator, Office of Community Treatment, Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services

Amy Hawthorne, MA, OCPSA, is the Trauma-Informed Care Coordinator with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Amy has worked in prevention and victim services for 10 years as a program manager, overseeing grant funds and educators to implement public health models of sexual and intimate partner violence prevention in school and community settings. Amy helped to qualify prevention program interventions and has worked to ensure behavioral and cultural changes are trauma-informed, inclusive, and accessible. In her current role, Amy works to strengthen the trauma-informed care regional collaboratives, meeting community specific needs and enhancing successful and developing TIC programs. She works to sustain and share efforts across regions and modify approaches for Ohio’s unique landscapes. She is currently working to coordinate statewide trauma-informed efforts, connecting resources and people providing direct services, and assist in trauma-informed systems change to better serve all Ohioans. She received her undergraduate degree at Ohio University and her graduate degree in Public Policy Management at the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University.

Continuing education

The Ohio Alliance is partnering with Moses/Weitzman Health System, Inc. to provide health professionals who participate in the Lunch and Learn with CME/CE credits, including dentists, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, registered dietitians, and social workers.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations for continuing education must be requested in writing to Bibiana Lagos via email at bibianalagos@osbha.com. The last day to cancel continuing education registration for a full refund is one week prior to the event (June 13, 2024). Refunds will not be issued for registrations or cancellations received after June 13, 2024. Eventbrite’s fee is nonrefundable.
