Lunch & Learn: A Primer on AI Fluency
Tues, Aug 5th 11:30am-1pm | The Club Room at the Minneapolis Club
Generative AI tools like ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot are reshaping how professionals think, write, plan, and communicate. But fluency with these tools isn’t about mastering features—it starts with learning how to guide them. This session will introduce the concept of prompting, and how even small shifts in how we engage AI can lead to more useful results.
In this Lunch & Learn presentation, Sarah Anderson and James Holmberg of VILAS will guide members through a clear, practitioner-focused introduction to generative AI.
Drawing on examples from law, marketing, and operations, they’ll explore:
• How large language models are trained
• What makes AI useful—and what doesn’t
• What prompting is, and why it matters
• How creativity, domain expertise, and sound judgment influence results
• What professionals can do now to build fluency, not just familiarity
A moderated Q&A will follow. This session opens a four-part series with VILAS on the evolving role of AI across professional decision-making, communication, and culture.
Ticket Price Includes a Plated Lunch & Program.
