Join us for our monthly Lunch & Learn event happening June 20th!


Our training this month will help you:

  • Recognize Adverse Religious Experiences (AREs) and approaches that may support trauma healing will be explored.
  • Women and those with LGBTQIA+ identities are especially marginalized in these spaces, and we will take an intersectional look at tactics used in HCRs to control these populations.
  • Gain insight into the process of deconstructing religious beliefs and ways to support someone who may want to rebuild a healthy relationship with spirituality.

This training is presented by: Jessica Carpenter LPCC, LMT, C-IAYT

Jessica Carpenter (she/her) is passionate about raising awareness of religious trauma and empowering helping professionals to better support their clients' healing. Her own experiences of navigating the complexities of a High Control Religion and its lasting effects lend a deep understanding of the psychological and emotional impact of adverse religious experiences. With over ten years of practice as a bodyworker (LMT, C-IAYT, TRE Provider), Jessica brings a holistic and integrative approach to her work as an LPCC.
