The name of our SHRM chapter, Gateway, is apt. It speaks to an opening, a portal through which your passage will transform you. We believe that the chapter is just such an opening to your professional exploration and development.

The Gateway Chapter is committed to growing today's leaders in human resources for the employees of companies and organizations in our area, and for the communities where we do business and ground our lives. Over our brief history we have successfully developed a collaborative environment of professional interaction of learning, support and growth. We are active, engaging, and interested in your life and needs. We're also responsive to the questions that confront each of us daily as we go about our work lives providing guidance and support to our colleagues, co-workers, partners and clients.

We have the tools and resources to assist you in your development. The people in our organization are knowledgeable, accessible, personable and helpful. Each month there is a new and relevant program of professional development to answer your questions, provide insight, learn a skill or subject, or meet and network with new people. Many of our programs provide credit towards your SPHR or PHR continuing certification. And, we promote new professional certification through an arrangement with Fairleigh Dickinson University and our member firms. We have a number of important volunteer opportunities at the chapter and state level to support your growth in new and expanding ways, as well.
