The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is a not-for-profit organization focused on providing global leadership for the optimal use of information technology (IT) and management systems for the betterment of healthcare. HIMSS membership provides opportunities to engage a network of 52,000+ like-minded professionals, over 600 member corporations and more than 250 not-for-profit partner organizations that share our mission of transforming healthcare through the effective use of information technology and management systems. Our network of professionals spans both San Antonio and West Texas, as well as the other chapters in Texas. The SA HIMSS chapter works to advance HIMSS' mission and goals through regular local networking and education events.

As the Department of Defense (DoD) is transitioning to a new EHR and migrating data, dealing with the millions of multiple records &amp; identities for its patient population became a real concern. These issues can and do affect benefits, patient satisfaction, create patient safety issues, and skew population health metrics. In this session you will learn of the experiences, methods and approaches utilized to address these issues within a system of systems.
