Presenter Bios

Michael Dinneen, LCSW, CSAT, CMAT, Founder & CEO, Valiant Living

Michael has over 25 years of experience in addiction, trauma, and co-occurring disorders. He co-founded VL and DCC after a successful tenure at CeDAR, where he designed and implemented innovative clinical programs. Michael is an author, international trainer, and mentor for substance abuse counselors, known for his engaging presentations at industry conferences. He holds a B.A. in education from Boston College and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Denver. Michael is happily married with two children and enjoys outdoor adventures, travel, and spiritual development.

Michael Simms, MSW, LCSW, LAC, CSAT, CIFST, ADS

Michael serves as the Director of Meadows Outpatient Services in Denver. With a Master of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver, he brings over a decade of experience in mental health and addiction treatment across various levels of care. From roles including therapist to executive director, Simms has dedicated himself to supporting individuals on their recovery journey, drawing from his personal experience overcoming substance use disorder and trauma. At Meadows Behavioral Healthcare, he ensures top-quality care for clients, leveraging his expertise and passion for helping others heal. Outside of work, Simms enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with his dogs, and engaging in social events with friends.
