Free Discovery Class — Come Join the Light!
Enter an international world of fun, fitness, and community created around an iconic and elegant weapon, the Light Saber! LudoSport is the International Network of sporting Light Saber Combat created in 2006 and codified in a progressive learning path. It’s a fun way for teens and adults of all genders to learn different combat styles and saber skills while exercising and having fun.
What is a Discovery Class?
A Discovery Class is a 2-hour lesson where you will learn the basics of LudoSport's Form 1 and a small sampler of some of the higher forms. By the end of the lesson, you will know enough to spar safely, and effectively, in a real duel!
What is the age limit?
The age limit for any of the Discovery classes is ages 13+. For participants who are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian will need to fill out paperwork at the beginning of the Discovery class.
Why the additional fee if the Discovery Class is free?
The additional fee is to reserve your spot in the Discovery Class as spots fill up very fast. Also, it is to make sure an instructor will be available to teach the class when they open. Buy tickets for a Discovery Class today!
What should I bring?
Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in freely. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. An athletic cup is recommended for people with external genitalia (it is required for regular lessons, but optional for the Discovery Class). Please also bring a form of ID and the admission ticket to get checked in.
But most of all, bring yourself and a willingness to have fun!
We will provide Polaris sabers, the official combat saber of LudoSport, for you to use during your Discovery Class so there's no need to bring your own!
Do I have to be super fit to do LudoSport?
Not at all! As long as you have basic mobility, we can work with you. LudoSport is a great way to get some exercise while having fun! Students span various ages, genders, and fitness levels, but we all can learn and compete together using a shared set of techniques that are adaptable to you.
