About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Austin Public Library's Innovate Digital Makerspace invites you to get inspired by films featuring trailblazing artists that paved the way for artistic creation.

An independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. HELVETICA looks at the proliferation of one typeface as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives. An exploration of urban spaces in major cities and the type that inhabits them, this film offers a fluid discussion with renowned designers about their work, the creative process, and the choices and aesthetics behind their use of type.

This recurring event will happen every third Wednesday of the month at the Innovation Lounge, stay tuned to see what amazing films we will be presenting next.

Also, find out how you can recreate similar art using our Digital Makerspace, located on the 5th floor of the Austin Central Library!
