Los Cheesies Cheese and Chong Psychedelic Experience with Special Guests

Los Cheesies are back at Roots Music Project for another unique signature off the wall concert that will blow your Cheesie mind!!!! Experience the psychedelic version of Los Cheesies with Cheech and Chong sound and visual effects throughout the night as well as some surprise circus-like performers. Los Cheesies perform so many styles of music, but this night they will be performing more of their original off the wall psychedelic rock, ska, and reggae music with a touch of Cheech and Chong comedy and effects and some theatrical surprises. Opening for Los Cheesies will be two new locally formed jam bands; Tortesia and Over Cooked Tamales. \ Talk about the perfect mix of bands for a Cheesie Cheech and Chong experience!!!

Los Cheesies:

11 years of performing and songwriting together has established LOS CHEESIES as one of the most powerful, unique,and off the wall show experiences in Colorado. You’ll find yourself humming to their original Fusion Rock and Roll, Ska, Reggae, Rap, and Psychedelic Rock tunes when you wake in the middle of the night… and laughing at their “Weird Al Yankovic” / Cheesie-fied hits from the 60s, 70s and80’s ! LOS CHEESIES perform all over the Front Range of Colorado and Wyoming, and every year headline many highly-acclaimed festivals and concert venues. LOS CHEESIES’ released their first album “QUÉWHAT?” in 2016, and the second album “Smoking Time” in 2023. Experience Los Cheesies, the Future of America.

Tortesia:

Tortesia is a multi instrumental group composed of 4 epic tone wizards. Mastering their craft by ear mainly, they have an assortment of tricks, riffs, and orchestral originals. The two Ned and Ward dawgs Johnny G and Emmet Griffin play a wide array of genres blues psychedelic folk n bluegrass and are influenced by folks like Stevie Ray, Marc Knopler and Dire Straits and Billy Strings. But that’s not all. The talent of the cello player Marty Bruck and Dylan Carter should be put on a pedestal!!!!$$ with bass styles drawn from the magic of Les Clay Pool and Stanley Clarke. As for our wizard Marty, his newfound passion and ability for the cello and keys add a unique and unforgettable feel to our team. These guys do a little of everything!!! A band of gypsies you could say.

Overcooked Tamales:

Overcooked Tamales is a singer-songwriter duo fusing beauty and groove from their jam lab in Boulder, Colorado. Drawing on inspirations such as Tom Petty, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Billy Cook, and The Wern Brothers, Overcooked Tamales’ spellbinding sounds weave rock, folk, and ska into a musical quilt you can wrap yourself in to dance or to ponder. Guitarist Tom Overmann’s tight rhythms and stanky riffs flow like a river on which vocalist Alli Cook floats majestically like a swan. Tune into our wavelength, crunch our granola, and be on the lookout for their EP coming in Fall 2024!
