In his upcoming workshop, participants will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the profound knowledge and practical skills that can be gained in a single day, surpassing months of studying photographic techniques. The workshop will feature comprehensive tuition sessions that provide ample time to learn and apply the taught skills. They will learn to master both soft and hard lighting techniques, enabling them to manipulate the mood and impact of a portrait. The workshop will delve into the functions of studio lighting and instruct participants on the effective use of fill lights, back lights, and hair lights, showcasing how they influence the final image. Do I need to bring any Lighting equipment? No Just your Camera & Lens, 85MM - 50MM Ideal for portraits.

Will I get to work with the models? Yes, plenty of time to shoot, working with the models and equipment.

Is the course aimed at Beginners? Yes and Intermediate Photographers who have knowledge on how to use their camera in manual mode.

About Rory Lewis

Winner of the Portrait of Britain in 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020. Lewis is a dedicated portrait photographer who has spent nearly twenty years capturing many of the world’s most recognised faces. Sitters have included the likes of William Shatner, Sir Patrick Stewart, David Cameron, Tony Blair, Iain Glen and Natalie Dormer. Rory’s images have been exhibited on both sides of the Atlantic, and several of his iconic portraits have been acquired by the National Portrait Gallery in London. His recent project, ‘Soldiery’, which documented the British Army of the 21st Century, was completed over a two year period and has been hailed as a national success story, named by the BBC as ‘The changing face of the British Army’.
