About this event

Join us on World Water Day for a discussion of responses to drought pressures in the Bay Area with three speakers on the challenges, opportunities and environmental impacts of our drought.

Peter Drekmeier, Policy Director of Tuolumne River Trust

Peter will give an overview of water supply and demand in the Bay Area and discuss SFPUC’s responses to our drought and their long term plans.

Katja Irvin, Conservation Vice-chair of Sierra Club, Loma Prieta Chapter

Katja will provide an environmental perspective on water supply planning, drought, and climate change in Santa Clara County.

Kirsten Struve, Assistant Officer of Water Supply Division

Recycled and purified water projects hold hope for a renewable water supply. Kirsten will discuss the status of these projects and other Valley Water drought responses.
