About this event

Latino Outdoors & Chicago BIPOC Birders welcome you to join us for a morning of Kayaking and Birding along the Chicago River!

We will meet at the Clark Park Boathouse, and get safety instructions and gear such as vests and paddles. Everyone will be in a tandem kayak! Beginners to kayaking and birding are welcome.

Binoculars will be provided.

Families are welcome and anyone under 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Waivers must be signed by all parties.

This event is for individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color.

Agenda:

7:30 AM - Arrive to check in and get your gear + safety Instructions

8:00 AM - Get onto the water & begin paddling!

9:00 AM - Return to the dock

9:30 AM - Optional cafecito at Caravanserai (Dark Matter Coffee at 2901 W. Belmont)

Please note that LO Great Lakes and Chicago BIPOC Birders are offering this event for free. Normally, events like this are NOT free. Please triple-check your calendar to make sure you can attend this event before registering! Do not take a spot from someone if you are unsure if you can make it this day. We will have a waitlist. If you sign up and for what ever reason can no longer attend, please CANCEL your reservation by 12PM on Saturday, May 25th so that tickets can be released to those on the waitlist.
