About this event

"Living Mindfully: Essential Practices" gives participants a simple, accesible, experiential, and relevant understanding of what mindfulness is. Participants will learn the difference between mindfulness, a mental state that requires a simple attention shift, and mindfulness meditation, a formal practice to cultivate mindfulness. No preparation is required for this session; simply bring an open mind and a willingness to explore.

During our time together, we'll delve into the concept of autopilot - that state of being where we operate on automatic, often missing out on the richness of each moment. We'll uncover how mindfulness can serve as the antidote to living on autopilot, allowing us to fully embrace the present moment with awareness and intention. You can watch my TEDx talk here if you want to hear more about the autopilot state.

Guided meditation sessions will provide practical opportunities to cultivate mindfulness right in the moment. Whether you're new to meditation or a seasoned practitioner, these sessions will offer valuable insights and techniques to deepen your practice.

In addition to experiential learning, we'll also provide book recommendations and suggest next steps for those eager to continue their journey into mindfulness beyond the workshop.

But perhaps most importantly, this workshop is a chance to connect with like-minded individuals, fostering a supportive community where we can learn from each other's experiences and insights. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, explore the depths of mindfulness, and cultivate a greater sense of presence and peace in our lives.

Join us for "Living Mindfully: Essential Practices" and embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and connection.

Since joining Google in 2014, I've been on a mission to lead businesses toward their digital milestones.

In late 2017, my personal journey towards wellbeing and resilience began. Confronted with life's challenges, I turned to meditation to cope with stress.

I began my exploration with mindfulness sessions hosted at Google's Dublin office. After that, I dove into the renowned Search Inside Yourself (SIY) program, a transformative initiative developed at Google. SIY uniquely integrates mindfulness practices to foster self-awareness, laying the groundwork for emotional intelligence. Through this program, I learned to navigate life's ups and downs with greater resilience, engagement, and happiness, while also enhancing my ability to collaborate and connect with others compassionately and effectively.

Eager to deepen my understanding, I embarked on a global journey, attending meditation retreats in India, Ireland and Thailand, where I immersed myself in various meditation styles, from silent contemplation to dynamic practices.

Empowered by my experiences, I became a certified facilitator for wellbeing and resilience at Google. I led weekly 30-minute meditation sessions during lunch breaks and organized half-day wellbeing retreats both internally at Google and externally for various teams and communities.

To further enrich my knowledge, I pursued Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programs and attained the level 2 certification in Reiki. Additionally, I dedicated my weekends in Dublin to studying and practicing Buddhist meditations at the local Buddhist center.

Among my favorite authors are luminaries such as Osho, Abraham Hicks, and Deepak Chopra.
