About this event

  • 1 day 18 hours

The Little League Umpire Mechanics Clinic will focus on the fundamentals of working the plate and the basics of base mechanics for the 2-Umpire System and/or 4-Umpire System. Leveraging engaging and dynamic seminar, classroom instruction, hands-on drill-work, and the usage of video, attendees will be exposed to the fundamentals and modern trends of being successful plate and base umpires and is suited for umpires of all skills and abilities, regardless of experience. This training event is open to umpires ages 18 and older.

Training materials and lunch will be provided for all attending umpires, and umpires will be responsible for making their own lodging arrangements, along with breakfast and dinner arrangements.

Additionally, umpires are required to bring all umpire equipment and gear and are strongly urged to dress as an umpire during all sessions unless communicated otherwise by the training staff. Umpires should also bring a glove with them for cage work, drills, and simulations throughout the event.

As a Little League Umpire, all umpires are reminded to complete a background check on the Umpire Registry for $5.00 in addition to completing the Abuse Awareness Training via USA Baseball and SafeSport. Because umpires may be umpiring live games during the training event, all umpires may be required to provide a copy of the certificate indicating completion of this Abuse Awareness Training prior to participating.

Completion of the Abuse Awareness Training is free and can be done by following this link: https://usabdevelops.com/page/4824/education. Please click “EDUCATION,” then select “COURSES,” complete the “Abuse Awareness for Adults” + “Enroll” and then “Go to Course.” Be sure to complete the course and download the certificate at the course’s completion to provide to training staff, if requested, prior to the event.

Whether new to the umpiring ranks or many years of experience, our clinics will ensure you have the most current, up-to-date, and approved mechanics and rules knowledge to elevate your game. We hope to see you soon!
