Part 1 PowerPoint - Course will assist with techniques to identify electric vehicles, the construction of EV’s and deference’s between full EV’s and Hybrids and what the considerations for extrication and extinguishment is when dealing with the different styles of EV’s. Course will also teach students the reaction lithium-ion battery fire has when dealing with e-bikes, scooters, ESS and anything lithium in a structure fire. By the end of the PowerPoint the hope is all students have a better understanding to identify and correctly investigate the incident for lithium-ion battery involvement and allow for a safe approach to extinguish the fire.

The Estes Valley Fire Protection District has been protecting the Estes Valley since 1907. The District employs seven career employees and 40 volunteer members. The department serves 70 square miles in the Town of Estes Park and unincorporated Larimer County. Estes Valley Fire shares mutual aid agreements with the Allenspark FPD, Pinewood Springs FPD, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, Lyons FPD, Glen Haven VFD, Big Elk VFD, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Larimer County Emergency Services.
