Workshop Overview
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn:
- Introduction to Lino Block Printmaking: Understanding the basics of relief printmaking.
- Tools and Materials: Getting familiar with printmaking tools and materials.
- Design Transfer: Techniques for transferring your design from sketch to lino block.
- Carving Techniques: Safe and effective methods for carving your design into the block.
- Inking and Printing: Applying ink and printing your design on paper.
What's Included:
- All necessary tools and materials, including lino blocks, carving tools, ink, and paper.
- Each participant will receive two 3x4 lino blocks and archival cotton paper for printing.
- Protective gloves and aprons to keep you clean while you create.
Additional Information:
- No prior printmaking experience is necessary.
- Please bring any images or sketches you would like to use for inspiration. Blocks measure about 3x4" each.

About Liz Ortiz:
Liz Ortiz of Mad Hare Press is a Fort Collins-based multidisciplinary artist specializing in various printmaking techniques. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Photo Image Making and Printmaking, Liz has extensive experience in intaglio, lithography, woodcut printmaking, and analog black and white photography. Her passion for accessible printmaking methods, particularly relief block printing, shines through in her creative and engaging workshops.

• Liability Waiver & Photo Release Form: By attending this workshop, you agree to our Liability Waiver and Photo Release Form.
• Minimum Age Requirement: Suggested minimum age is 15 years. Sharp cutting tools will be used during this workshop and to prevent any injury it is recommended there be a confident level of hand coordination for any minor.
Of course as a parent/guardian you have the knowledge on the level of skill and coordination of your child. Please contact if you have questions regarding suggested age of participants.
• Parent/Guardian Attendence: Minors 15-17 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Parent(s)/guardian(s) must sign liability waiver(s) for any minor and must be present for the entirety of the workshop.
• Allergen Warning: Please be aware that some materials used in this workshop may cause possible skin irritation or potential allergic reactions. Gloves and masks will be available.

Due to the nature of the workshop and limited spots, we have a no-refund policy. However, you may transfer your ticket 48 hrs prior to the workshop to another person or another workshop if you cannot attend. Please contact us via thehare@madharepress.com for transfer requests.

Petrichor Collective Studios is located in the basement unit of 131 East Lincoln Ave. There is parking on both sides of the building, one on Willow and the other on Lincoln. The Lincoln side parking lot is ADA accessible with an elevator located at the front of the building.
From the Willow street parking lot go through the green gate and down the stairs. The door will be open to our primary gathering space. From Lincoln Ave go in the main doors and take the elevator down to the studio. Take a right out of the elevator and go down the hall until you reach the big room.
Feel free to bring any personal images or sketches for inspiration. All other materials will be provided.
No prior art or printmaking experience is necessary. This workshop is designed for beginners and experienced artists alike.

Workshops have a minimum suggested age based on safety & tools being used. Anyone over the suggested age is welcome to participate. However, all minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the workshop. A ticket must be purchased for everyone who plans to participate.
