About this event

REGISTRATION AVAILABLE BEGINNING MAY 19TH

Chicago for Chicagoans is excited to bring back our 1.5 hour walk through Lincoln Square! Longtime Chicago tour guide and northside resident Anthony Alfaro will cover the rich history, architecture, and culture of Chicago's most famous German neighborhood while highlighting the community's rich patchwork of small businesses.

Beginning at the Western Brown Line stop, the tour will trace Lincoln Square's roots, from producing flowers, pickles, and celery in the mid 1800s, to the creation of its iconic pedestrian mall in the late 1970s, to its modern reputation as the Old-World inspired shopping and dining destination of the North Side. The afternoon will end with a beer & bite at Jerry's Sandwiches, where participants are encouraged to enjoy a meal with the group. Come learn something new about your place in space!
