In celebration of our 20th anniversary, Okayplayer is excited to kick off Lincoln Center’s Out of Doors season with a concert in honor of Ellis Haizlip, the visionary creator of variety-talk show SOUL! and the groundbreaking jazz, gospel & R&B festival of the '70s Soul at the Center, co -produced by Lincoln Center.

Join us Wednesday, July 24th at Damrosch Park for a riveting performance by five-time Grammy Award–winner Lalah Hathaway as she performs classic songs by her father, the legendary Donny Hathaway. Queer pop duo The Illustrious Blacks will start off the night on a high note with their disco-infused Afrofuturist funk along with poetic R&B singer Baby Rose and hip-hop forefathers The Last Poets.

With more surprises in store, you don’t want to miss this special night of soul! '70s outfits encouraged!
