LINC: Back 2 School Bash

Did you know that kids learn to read until third grade, after which they read to learn? That’s why early education and literacy support is so important! Join us to pack backpacks with supplies for local students – helping them to start the school year with the tools they need to succeed. Because when more kids have what they need to keep pace with their classmates, our entire community is smarter and better positioned to succeed across generations.

Backpacks from this event will go to children and families receiving services from The Road Home Dane County (a United Way partner nonprofit dedicated to ending family homelessness in Dane County).

Help us reach our goal of providing 250 backpacks! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of families and teachers in our community. In addition to attending LINC’s Back 2 School Bash, you can help by:

• Sponsoring a Backpack – Make a donation of $30 to cover the cost of school supplies for one student. Choose the “make a donation” ticket type.
• Hosting a Donation Drive – Rally your co-workers by collecting new school supplies at your workplace. Email volunteer@uwdc.org to get started!
• Purchasing School Supplies Online – Buy the most needed supplies from our Amazon Wishlist to be stuffed into backpacks at the event. Email volunteer@uwdc.org to learn more.

New this year! LINC will be keeping track of team/company points to be able to crown a winner at year end! Points are earned through attendance, winning/placing at competitions, and promoting the event on social media.
