Minnetonka High School Arts Center on 7 

Minnetonka Schools is hosting screenings of the compelling new documentary, LIKE. Technology, such as smart phones, can make our lives easier in so many ways—but is there a price? This powerful film examines the very real effects social media can have on our lives. LIKE captures interviews with students, parents, psychologists, doctors and experts from a wide-range of fields and perspectives. Parents, educators and community members are invited to RSVP to reserve a seat at one of three free screenings:<ol><li>Wednesday, November 13, 2019, 7 - 8:30 p.m. at Minnetonka High School’s Arts Center</li><li>Monday, January 27, 2020, 7 - 8:30 p.m. at Minnetonka High School’s Arts Center</li><li>Friday, January 31, 2020, 6-7:30pm at Minnewashta Elementary School Gym- <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/like-documentary-parent-screening-6-730pm-minnewashta-elementary-school-tickets-90302359789" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">RSVP for Minnewashta showing here</a>.</li></ol>Minnetonka students in grades 6-12 will see this documentary during school this year; grades 7, 8 and 10 will view it in November, and grades 6, 9, 11 and 12 will view it in February. The hope is that parents will view the film and it will help spark informed conversations with their children. A discussion will be part of the screening, and a number of resources will be shared to help parents guide their children and work toward a healthy relationship with social media, personal technology, and entertainment screen time.
