Google Developer Group (GDG) Kansas Cityis a nonprofit technology user group that meets regularly to discuss the latest technologies, tools, SDKs, and APIs related to Google. This includes discussions of the technologies from a number of angles (start ups, corporations, and individuals).Women Techmakers (WTM) Kansas Cityis a program that provides visibility, community, and resources for women in technology. The focus is on empowering women in their careers by providing access to curated resources and events, as well as information and tools from GDG Kansas City, Google, our partners, and the global tech ecosystem.Here are a few of the topics that we have covered so far:Android, AngularJS, Google App Engine, Google Maps, Dart, Google Apps Script, Google Cloud Platform, Firebase, and lots more!The group is free to attend and open to all who are interested in discussing and learning more about software development with Google Tools and Technologies.If you would like to stay up to date with events and activities of the group, please follow us on Google+. <p>Join JavaScript KC, AngularKC, VueKC, and GDG Kansas City for a night of learning from lightning talks.</p><h2>What&#x27;s a lightning talk?</h2><p>Lightning talks are designed to be short presentations between five and ten minutes long, but are usually capped at five minutes. Talks are arranged one after the other during the sessions. Lightning talks are brief which requires the speaker to make their point clearly and rid the presentation of non-critical information. This causes the audience to be more attentive to the speaker and gain a broader array of knowledge from the presentations given.</p><p>-Wikipedia</p><p></p><p>Attendees interested in presenting can signup to give a short, 5-minute talk on any topic they want (preferably technology-related please). Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes. This is meant to be a fun, light competition. It won&#x27;t be an intense, heavily structured point system. What’s that?</h2><p>PowerPoint karaoke is an improvisational activity in which a participant must deliver a presentation based on a set of slides that they have never seen before.
