DESCRIPTION:

Dive into the world of ceramics with our exciting Lidded Vessels and Advanced Forms Class!  

  

Join us for a fun-filled class where you'll learn the art of throwing clay on the wheel and crafting beautiful vessels in all shapes and sizes with lids* from shaping to finishing touches. Discover the joy of creating functional art pieces while unleashing your creativity. Come join us and let's make some magic with clay!  

  

*Some wheel-throwing experience is recommended for this class.  

SCHEDULE:

This class will meet once per week for 3 hours over 4 weeks.

WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO BRING:

Your class will meet each week at the Concho Clay Studio. We are part of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, located at 1 Love Street, San Angelo, TX. 76903. Look for our signs outside the studio, our entrance is located to the left of the main museum, up the ramp in the breezeway.

Tools are provided for all classes. Please be prepared to pay for clay during your first class. We can accept cash, check, or credit cards for payment. Museum members, seniors, and military get 10% off clay purchases. You can become a museum member online at https://www.samfa.org/support or in person at the studio. We do not allow outside clay to be brought in for classes, all clay must be purchased here at the studio.

OPEN STUDIO ACCESS:

If you register for any 4-8 week ceramic class you also get full access to Open Studio hours to work outside of class, while enrolled in a class.

Open Studio is not a substitute for class, there is no instruction or demonstrations as there is no instructor available during these hours. Staff will be available for questions or concerns as needed by students and members.

Summer Open Studio SCHEDULE:

Tuesdays 10 am – 2 pm

Wednesdays 10 am – 2 pm

Thursdays 10 am – 2 pm

Fridays* 10 am – 3 pm & 4 pm – 9 pm

Saturdays 10 am – 2 pm

Open Studio may occasionally be unavailable or have alternative hours if CCS is offering a Workshop or for Special Events.

*Fridays during summer session will vary to accommodate our Teen Clay & Play Movie Nights on May 31, June 14, June 28, and July 12. Open Studio hours for these dates will be from 10 am – 4 pm only.


PLEASE NOTE:

This class is for adults 18 years or older. Students of 16 years or above may take the course if accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also registered for the class. If you are interested in children's programming, please visit https://www.samfa.org/education-at-samfa.

Only one ticket may be purchased at a time. Please use the name and contact information for the student taking the course if you are purchasing a ticket for another person.


Minimum Registration of 3 Required for Class to Make


If you cannot attend the class and will need a refund, please notify us as soon as possible to give us time to consider other students often on waitlists to get into classes.


REFUND POLICY:

We determine refunds on a case-by-case basis. Our policy does not take attendance into consideration. All Eventbrite fees are non-refundable. Please email ceramics@samfa.org to request a refund.

If a course is Canceled or up to 2 days before the first scheduled Class Meeting: 100%

48 hours prior to 1st Scheduled Class Meeting: 75%

After the 1st class and before the 2nd class meeting: 50%

After the 2nd class meeting: No Refunds
