ABOUT LIBERATION LIBRARY
Liberation Library is an abolitionist organization that provides books and reader-led magazines to young people incarcerated in Illinois facilies to encourage imagination, self-determination and connection to each other and to outside worlds of their choosing. We believe access to books is a right, not a privilege. We believe books and relationships empower young people to change the criminal legal system.
ABOUT PACKING DAYS
In 2023, after three years of filling our book orders in house, LibLib re-launched public packing days. In general, we hold packing days on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, with a few exceptions. Attendees are required to wear a mask (KN95 or N95) throughout the duration of this event. Masks will be provided for those who do not have them. If you do not wear a mask during this event, you will be asked to leave.
ABOUT THE SPACE
Our office is on a second floor. An elevator is available with a code provided by the packing day leads. The building has two gender neutral bathrooms, but please note that the bathrooms are not accessible. Please message us for additional access needs.
