Join us to learn more about the rights of LGBTQ+ students in NYC Public Schools. We'll provide a brief overview of the laws, regulations, and DOE guidelines protecting LGBTQ+ students, as well as practical information about how to enforce and utilize these protections.

We'll talk about some of the most common issues faced by LGTBQ+ students in school, including bullying, discrimination, school discipline, changing schools, and making educational decisions as an unaccompanied youth. NYC Schools have robust gender-inclusive policies and practices related to names, pronouns, bathrooms, locker rooms, sports, dress codes, and more, which all schools must follow. We’ll talk about how you can learn more about student rights and where youth and professionals can go for support.
