Event Moderator: Edward J. Wehmer

Edward J. Wehmer | President, Founder & CEO, Wintrust

A Wintrust founder, Ed Wehmer has served since May 1998 as president and CEO of the Company. He is responsible for overseeing the execution of Wintrust’s day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. Prior to his current roles, he served as Wintrust president and chief operating officer since its formation in 1996, and as Lake Forest Bank & Trust president from 1991 to 1998.

Ed has been a director since 1996, and serves as an advisory director of each of the Company’s main operating subsidiaries. He is the only member of the Board who is also a manager of the Company. As such, he provides views of Company management and substantial insight into Company operations. As an employee of the Company since its inception, he also provides historical context for the Board’s discussions.

Ed is a certified public accountant and, earlier in his career, spent seven years with the accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP specializing in the banking field, particularly in the area of bank mergers and acquisitions.

Ed serves on the board of directors of Stepan Company (NYSE), a chemical manufacturing and distribution company. He also serves as a director of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital and the Catholic Extension Society, on the audit committee of Northwestern Memorial Health Care, as a trustee for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital and Foundation, and on the finance board of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

David Ernesto Munar | President, CEO, Howard Brown Health

David Ernesto Munar has devoted his entire professional career to building comprehensive systems of care and prevention that meet the needs of vulnerable populations. Since joining Howard Brown Health in 2014 as its President and CEO, Munar has focused on ensuring the delivery of excellent health and wellness services to Howard Brown’s patient populations, strengthening finances and operations, and positioning the organization for long-term sustainability and growth. Under his leadership, Howard Brown has expanded to include more than 10 health clinics from Englewood to Rogers Park, serving more than 34,000 people annually.

Prior to Howard Brown, Munar honed his career at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago where he held several positions, including President and CEO, during his 23-year tenure with the agency. He currently serves on the governing boards of AllianceChicago, AIDS United, the Black AIDS Institute, and Cook County Health and Hospitals System.

His advocacy work has earned several accolades, including being named a Champion of Change by the White House in 2011. In 2007, he helped launch the Coalition for a National AIDS Strategy, which led to the National HIV/AIDS Strategy unveiled by President Obama in July 2010.

Munar’s work draws on career experience and perspectives as a bilingual Colombian‐American and gay man living with HIV. He is an avid runner and graduate of Northwestern University.


Priya Parrish | Managing Partner, Impact Engine

Priya Parrish is Managing Partner at Impact Engine, a venture capital and private equity investment firm focused on companies that generate positive outcomes in education, health, economic empowerment, and environmental sustainability. Prior to joining Impact Engine, she served as Chief Investment Officer at Schwartz Capital Group, a single-family office investing across global markets. Previously, Priya was Strategy Head at Aurora Investment Management, a multi-billion-dollar manager of hedge fund portfolios, and managed product development of investment products that incorporated environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors at Northern Trust Asset Management and KLD Research & Analytics. Priya currently serves as Impact Investor in Residence at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where she teaches and mentors students about impact investing strategies. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Babson College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
