Course Description
This online and two day course introduces Trigger Point Dry Needling as an intervention for treating a variety of diagnoses. In the Level I course participants are introduced to the theory and physiology of myofascial trigger points, and the history of dry needling. Anatomy of each muscle will be reviewed, including the trigger points and their corresponding referral patterns. The muscle groups included in the dry needling training course are the cervical and lumbar spine, hip, lower extremity, shoulder girdle, and forearm.

Organized by

Dr. Patty Pennell-Noel has been involved in physical therapy education for over 23 years including being affiliate faculty at Regis University. She has been instructing Trigger Point Dry Needling for a decade. She received her Master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Colorado 1992 and her Doctorate of Science through Texas Tech University in 2008. Patty has extensive training and experience in manual therapy of the spine and extremities.

During her 28-year career, she has work in orthopedic outpatient population working a variety of patient populations. For the last 8 years, she has been working for the United States Tennis Association providing physical therapy at professional tennis tournaments. Patty’s breadth of experience has allowed her to utilize Trigger Point Dry Needling on a wide spectrum of patients.
