Level 2 training builds on the vocabulary learnt in level 1and is recommended for:
Anyone wishing to complete a 'foundation' understanding of Makaton, this includes parents, family members, carers and workers who use Makaton at home and in their work environment.
Learners are required to have completed their Level 1Makaton workshop as a prerequisite to level 2.
Sessions include discussing commonly asked questions, hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use and how to impiment use of Makaton in day to day settings. Learners will recap the vocabulary learnt in level 1.
You will also learn the signs and symbols from Stages 3 and 4, and some of the Additional stage, of the Core Vocabulary.
Duration
Level 2 training is made up of two modules delivered as 2 twilight sessions, 15th & 22nd July 2025, 6-9pm. Learners must be able to attend both sessions.
Entry criteria
Participants must have an interest in early communication skills and have completed Level 1 Makaton.
Study materials
You will receive a Participant's Manual, which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop.
You will also be given a certificate of attendance. Please remember to bring your Level 1 training certificate.
In the event a participant cannot attend, a course tranfer will be offered onto the next available course.
Transfers
